New fruit trees!
The villa came with 2.4 ha (5.9 acres) of land. That’s a lot of land! The first thing we did was order 30 olive trees – along with 5 pollinator trees – in hopes of producing our own olive oil sometime in the future.
We also bought two cherry trees, two fig trees, two peach trees and a pear tree, as well as five table grape vines. These have been planted and augment the current half dozen fruit trees we already have. I know better than to expect fruit any time soon, but hopefully we can defend them against insects and diseases as well as the nibbling of our local cervids.
